A good campground to spend a week in, which we did. We had a large enough, shady (trees but not the deep, dark woods) campsite. The camp was very clean, and the staff were polite and helpful. There was a trolley, nominal fee, that you could use to go to the outlets, and another trolley that could be taken, again, for a small fee, into Lake George. Entertainment was offered on an almost nightly basis, and the shows were surprisingly good. We took in two of the shows, and all of us (husband, me, and sixteen year old daughter) enjoyed them immensely. A small, clean luncheonette, and a camp store that was well stocked. Paved streets made bike riding and walking very easy. Only one possible negative-the main camp sites, of which we had one, were great, but the another area of campsites were more like a parking lot. Sun beat down on these sites all day-no trees, and much more closely packed sites. I would not have wanted to stay at this campground if I had one of these sites.

We stayed at this campground for two nights while visiting Monticello. Although I would not pick this campground for a "let's stay all week and relax" vacation, it was fine for using as a base to visit the area. Pros-closest campground to Monticello and Charlottesville. A clean campground that was well kept up. It has friendly owners. There is a clean laundry room and only about ten minutes to get to from Route 64 Cons-many of the sites were small (the first site we were given was so small that the front of our rv stuck out into the driveway. We requested another site-no problem with getting a new site). Information for pet owners-very little grass and a lot of gravel, which gave us trouble walking our dog. Overall, not a bad place. I would stay here again if I was planning on visiting the area.

Stayed here in a class C. Owners very friendly and the park was clean. This is a campground for adults and children, 16 and older. There are no activities. However, we found quite a bit to do in our three day stay. First, this was the friendliest bunch of campers I've ever met. Everyone waved and talked to you. We walked into the town of Inetercourse (took about ten or fifteen minutes)and did some shopping. There is also a pond with swans and fish (which you can feed, provided you have quarters) right across the street. Also,an Amish farm right across the street and a lot of Amish going up and down the road. One thing I should mention-no place to have a fire. I saw one group of campers that brought a fire ring and were using it, and the store sells firewood, but there were no established fire rings. A nice, relaxing place to stay.

Okay, we did not really camp here. But....here's what happened...we were heading home from vacation and needed an overnight. I had two guidebooks, both which rated this as an "above average" campground. So, it was getting late, and we pulled into this campground. I go into the office, check in, and suddenly see a sign, which says-"we have ants, please spray." Okay, it is somewhat late, and we happen to have bug spray, so we'll stay. I pay the young lady, get into the rv, we drive a few feet, and enter a scene right out of the movie, Deliverence, or the show, Twilight Zone-take your pick, and, no, I am not kidding, this was one scary place. I think people actually lived here year round-and in rusted, ready to fall down shacks. This place looked like a third world country. Okay, maybe the overnight section is better. But...as we continue to drive (another ten feet) these huge bugs swarm onto the outside of our rv. I am talking hundreds of them. My husband and I look at each other, drive back to the office, I run in, ask for our money back-not a bit of a problem, and we continue on our way. I would have rather slept in a parking lot than in this place.

We were on our way to a vacation destination and needed a place to overnight. My uncle had suggested this place, so we stopped. Everyone was friendly, and the campground was okay for a one nighter, but I wouldn't call this anything better than an "I need a place to stay and this is safer than a rest stop," kind of a place.

We camped here when we needed an overnight site coming home from vacation. Pleasant office staff, clean sites, wifi which was easy to access. A fine place to overnight.

We stayed here overnight on our way to a vacation destination. Fine enough for an overnight. This is the second time we have used this campground for a stopover. I wouldn't stay here to relax and kick back as a vacation, but nice enough for one night.

I had a rough time rating this campground. So much of a person's rating would be tied into their campsite and what they wanted from a campground. I'll break up my information: Campsites: First, this campground was recently expanded. The new sites are spacious and clean, but lacks shade (trees have been planted, but they are still small). Another twenty five or so of the older sites are spacious, clean, and some of these have nice shade, some have no to little shade. Also there are the spots by the junkyard. If I had one of these sites, I would ask for my money back and leave. They are shady, but narrow and backed right up against a junkyard. A side note, I asked one of the hosts about this infamous junkyard. She told me that the owner had recently died, and his land and junk are up for auction next month. I saw an auction sign on Highway 30 that confirmed this. I asked if the campground owner planned to buy the four acre piece of land. She didn't know. Hopefully, no matter who gets this land, there will be a clean-up. However, these are still small sites. Recreation; nothing here but a pool, which is very clean. Another thing to note; the roads consist of that big gravel, a bit hard to ride bikes and walk dogs. A plus, I don't believe that there are any seasonals here, so anyone could use the pool and not feel stifled by thousands of teen invaders. Bathrooms are clean and the grounds are nicely landscaped. The store is small, but clean. The hosts were very pleasant. I would say-if you wanted a central base in Lancaster, where you could easily drive to the major attractions this would certainly be a campground to consider.

If you want to camp and go to Hershey-this is the place to stay. Hershey runs shuttles to the park. Campers (and hotel guests) are allowed into the park an hour earlier than the general public. This is a definite must due to the crowds. The campground itself has many shady sites (most sites have shade, except some of the tent sites). The full hook-up sites down by the main entrance are a bit close together, but the sites up on the hill are spacious. There is a nice pool and a well-stocked, but expensive camp store. The reason I gave this campground a 7-the bathrooms. They were average at best, and I would think that a huge corporation like Hershey would have nicer bathrooms (like Disney). The bathrooms could have been cleaned more often, been roomier, and more up-to-date. A side note-this was a noisy campground-people (at least when we were there) stayed up late and partied. Didn't see how people could go to the park, come back and swim, and still stay up all night drinking, but a lot of them did.

This was our first time at Otter Lake. Let me break my opinions into sections: Pros: 1. In my opinion-Otter Lake is one of the few, true "destination" campgrounds in the Pocono-Lancaster area. Many daily activities with an adult supervisor at each activity are offered on a daily basis. Sports, crafts, archery are offered free of charge. In addition there is boating and ceramics for a fee. The paved roads also offer an ideal place to ride bikes. A lot of people also fished in the 60 acre lake. You could easily stay at this campground for an entire week, not leave, and still have a lot to do. 2. Campsites are spacious and well thought out. Trees, without being too shady, give you privacy from your neighbor. 3. A lot of security. 4. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Cons- I thought that the showers could have been a bit cleaner. Just for general information: 1. Golf carts are not allowed. 2. There are many seasonal people here with many seasonal teen-agers. Don't get me wrong, this wasn't a problem, but I do want to mention something-if you are traveling with a teen-ager (we were) you might want to let them bring a friend along. Our daughter felt a bit intimidated by all of the teens that knew one another. She would have done better with a friend to walk around with (someone other than her parents). 3. Wifi is available only at the store. It is free. Would we go back, yes.

Beautiful campground with large and clean, level sites. Many, many seasonals, but all were nicely maintained. We stopped by for an overnight and had no trouble getting a space. Some sites are on a lake. A lot of grass. Friendly hostess.

Although there was not a lot to do in this campground, my family liked it. The campground was very close to the Amana Colonies and the outlets. We visited both and stayed here for three days. Very level and huge sites. A clean and very inexpensive laundry. Very friendly host and hostess.

We stayed here on the way to Yellowstone. A fine campground for an overnight or as a base camp to go out and visit the sites.

I gave this campgound a ten for what it was. A great place to spend as an overnight or as a basecamp. We stayed here on the way to, and then back, from Yellowstone. The couple who own this small campground go out of their way to make you feel at home. Clean, clean , clean sites and when I went in to look at the bathroom/showers I thought the floor was wet-that's how shiny the tiles were. A wonderfully clean, small laundry room.

This was a great campground. We stayed here for two nights. This campground is very close to the Crazy Horse Memorial and Mt. Rushmore. Although we didn't use many of the facilities, there were tons. Swimming pools, activities for children, several clean laundry rooms, a dining room, a fast food place, a candy store, and a big general store. This KOA had good security and was clean.

We stayed here for an overnight because we wanted to visit Wall Drugstore. The campground advertised Wi-Fi, which they didn't have and television service, which they didn't have. A microscopic swimming pool, and a hostess who continually coughed in my face during resistration. Not too friendly. I wouldn't stay here again.

A nice enough campground for a base campground to see all of the sites of Cody. About five minutes oiutside of Cody, so you have peaceful evenings. The campground runs a free shuttle to the nightly rodeo. The hosts were friendly.

We stayed here on the way to Yellowstone. We picked this campground because it got such good reviews. I sure don't see why. The campground hosts were friendly, but the sites were very, very, very tight, and there was dust everywhere. A clean laundry. This campground says you can walk into town. Well....you can certainly walk to the Buffalo Bill Museum, but it would be a long walk into the rest of the town. And, I wouldn't call any of the sites shady-the trees were all in back of the campsites. On the way home, we stayed at the Cody KOA, which I liked much better.

We stayed here on an overnight to see Devil's Tower. A great campground with clean laundry facilities and a fantastic view of Devil's Tower. Everything we used was clean. The campground had a nice general store.

This campground was better than I expected. Big enough sites with great park security. There was a big laundry facility. This campground was close to many of the major sites in Yellowstone.

A fine campground that had a clean laundry and was close to everything we wanted to do in the Grand Teton Park. Campground hosts were very friendly. Several good restaurants/food courts near the campground.

Camp-in-Wood was one of the nicest campgrounds we have ever stayed at. Everything was clean and well tended. I was a bit hesitant to make reservations here, due to a few of the negative reviews on this board. I'm glad I went ahead. Everyone on the staff was very nice and willing to talk to you. A note about the strictness of the staff following the rules-yes, they do. If you are the type of person who wents to bend the rules, then this campground is not for you. If you are willing to obey the rules, you will have no problems at Lake-in-Wood. There were a fair amount of seasonal people, but I have never seen seasonal sites kept as clean as these were. As to the quarry, if you listen, you can hear the quarry, but more as background noise-I tend to be sensitive to noise, and this didn't bother me a bit. In addition, there were a nice variety of activities here. Miniature golf, row and paddle boating, swimming, and a nice hiking trail. On the plus side, these activites did not cost a lot. Miniature golf was a dollar or two and the boating was $5. 00 an hour. We will most certainly return to this campground.
